HOWDY!

Here’s some information about me that may or may not be of interest to you.

I’m a Taurus sun, Capricorn moon, Gemini rising. I’m a tender-hearted, dirt worshipping, people/earth/animal lover.

I was born in El Paso, Texas and moved to a small town called Tonganoxie, Kansas when I was 8 years old. I was shaped by the humble, Midwestern landscape I was brought up in and later, after moving to Utah in my early 20s, fell deeply in love with the earth and its abundant, wild, and varied beauty.

Van here! Pleased to meet ya!

I grew up begrudgingly weeding and watering gardens, eating tomatoes grown by my mom and grandmother, and remembering the smell of sweat, sweet on their skin from their never ending hard work.

My ancestors are from the SWANA region in Syria and Lebanon, as well as from various parts of the UK, mostly around Northern England. While I largely study herbalism through a Western Vitalist lens, I also try to bring in practices and plants from my ancestral lineages as much as possible.

My entry into herbalism has been multifaceted and hard to pinpoint. There are a multitude of moments that brought me to the realization that I wanted to study plants and to act as a bridge between them and people in my life and community.

Here’s a lil’ timeline to give you some insight into my herbal history.
